GENERAL INFORMATION: Is the DHAP voucher program ending soon?

Hurricane Ike was the size of the entire State of Texas. Now, almost one year after the storm, its damage can still be felt in the greater Houston area

Clients are telling me they have heard that the DHAP program is wrapping up. I've had no notification of this but it seems more and more difficult to find an apartment accepting DHAP Vouchers.

The good news is I know of apartments in SW Houston and North Houston and The Woodlands that are still accepting DHAP vouchers. If you have a DHAP voucher for Harris County, you have to have an apartment in that county. Same for Montgomery County. I have had several clients transfer their vouchers from storm damaged counties (like Galveston) to other counties but this is the only exception.
